BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Tian Liang received his dental training and earned his BDS degree from Peking University School of Stomatology. He then worked on the molecular pathogenesis of Dentinogenesis Imperfecta with the supervision of Dr. Yongbo Lu and Dr. Chunlin Qin and completed his PhD in Oral Biology at the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry. Dr. Liang got intensive training on dental enamel and dentin formation as a postdoctoral research fellow in the laboratory of Dr. James Simmer and Dr. Jan Hu at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He was recruited to the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry in 2024. Dr. Liang’s research passion is in tooth development and mineralization. His investigation on dentin focuses on the roles of dentin sialophosphoprotein in Dentinogenesis Imperfecta and dentin mineralization. His research on enamel concentrates on the enamel mineralization front. He is also interested in ameloblast and odontoblast differentiation.
