Lorenzo Tavelli is a third year perio resident. He graduated from the University of Milan in 2017 prior to joining the department. His main focus has been on clinical research, publishing many of his works in international peer-reviewed journals. He is also the 2019 recipient of Schoor Research Award from The American Academy of Periodontology, and was the recipient of the 2017 Jeffrey Johnston Scholarship. Lorenzo serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for several well-known journals in periodontics. His master thesis project investigates the phases of early wound healing following oral soft tissue grafting for the treatment of soft tissue dehiscences around dental implants.
