BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Munz earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Michigan in 2011 and completed the general practice residency (GPR) at the University of Michigan Health System in 2012. After residency, Dr. Munz joined the University of Michigan faculty in 2012 as the GPR Assistant Program Director and in 2014, Dr. Munz became the GPR Program Director. In 2019, she took on the role of Associate Chair of Hospital Dentistry as well as being appointed as the Walter H. Swartz Professor of Integrated Special Care Dentistry. She contributes to clinical teaching in Oral Medicine, Pathology and Radiology at the School of Dentistry. She is committed to developing the next generation of general practice dentists. Her clinical interests are in implant and prosthetic rehabilitation of patients with head and neck cancer and patients with cleft lip/palate and craniofacial anomalies, as well as general dentistry for patients with medical complexity and special healthcare needs. Her research interests are in oral disease factors contributing to community-acquired infective endocarditis, oral prosthetics effects on oral health-related quality of life, and health professions' progress in interprofessional education and collaborative patient care.
