My name is Riccardo Di Gianfilippo and I am a second-year resident of the Graduate Periodontics Program of the University of Michigan.
I graduated with my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2016 from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, and worked in private practices for two years. While I was attending the Annual Course of the Italian Society of Periodontology, I decided to apply to the Graduate Periodontics Program at the University of Michigan. I was accepted into the Postdoctoral Program and shortly after started my Graduate Residency in 2018. I was the recipient for the Award of Distinction and Honor (2016, University of Rome), Martignoni Award (2017, University of Rome), Jeffrey Johnston Fellowship Award (2018, University of Michigan), and Periodontal Summer Teaching Fellowship (2019, University of Michigan). My research interests include periodontal plastic surgery and characterization of immunolandscape of peri-implantitis tissues.
