Dr. Razan Alawad was born and raised in Aleppo, Syria. She graduated from Aleppo Dental College & Hospital, where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in September 2014. While still a student, she volunteered in multiple Syrian refugee camps. After graduation, Dr. Alawad passed the National Board of Dentistry (NBDE) part one in 2016 and part two in 2017. Her main scientific interests include digital dentistry, full-arch dental restoration, implant prosthodontics, and hard/soft tissue regeneration. She joined the Dental Postgraduate Program in Prosthodontics at the University of Michigan in the winter of 2020, where she obtained a certificate. Then Dr. Alawad joined the Graduate Prosthodontics Program at the University of Michigan in the summer of 2020. After this program, Dr. Alawad plans to apply the acquired knowledge to best serve her patients, to improve her private practice and to teach at a dental school.
