Dr. Chia-Cheng Li is the Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine, University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Dr. Li received her DDS and MS degrees from National Yang-Ming University in Taiwan. She completed her postgraduate training at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she received a certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a DMSc degree in Biomedical Science. Dr. Li is a board-certified oral pathologist both in the United States (Diplomate, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology) and in Taiwan. She is also a fellow in both the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and the American Academy of Oral Medicine. Dr. Li’s research interests focus on investigating the behavior of oral cancer stem cells at the clonal level, and chemo-prevention of head and neck pre-cancerous lesions. In addition to her scientific research, Dr. Li dedicates her time to dental education and promotes the integration of basic science and clinical dentistry.
