The University of Michigan School of Dentistry is one of the nation’s leading dental schools engaged in oral health care education, research, patient care, and community service!

The School of Dentistry is the first dental college to be connected with a public university – opened in 1875.

The School was awarded $13.3 million in research grant awards from the NIH in 2004, placing us 2nd among the nation’s dental schools.

Over 80,000 patient visits were recorded last year.

Students of the School of Dentistry provide oral health care to migrant workers and their families in and around Traverse City, MI.  This program is one of the oldest community service learning dentistry programs in the nation.
