THE DENTAL SCHOOL

  • Located on the main campus

  • First dental school to be associated with a public university (1875)

  • Full service dental school: DDS, all specialty programs (endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, oral diagnosis, oral pathology, pediatric dentistry, periodontics), dental hygiene, and a very active continuing education program for practicing dentists including pilot projects of distance learning. Close links to Dental Public Health (Department of Epidemiology) at the School of Public Health

CLINICAL PROGRAM

  • Vertically Integrated Clinic (VIC) format (D1-D4)

  • Community Outreach Program (D4) - 3 week off-site rotations

  • Clinical experiences (observation/assisting/patient care) start in the first semester of the first year
