The School of Dentistry, originally founded in 1875, is located in the heart of central campus and adjacent to downtown Ann Arbor. Conveniently located on several bus routes, the School of Dentistry is close to a variety of restaurants, museums and businesses. Below, get to know the city and campus.

Campus: Details
Student Residency The School of Dentistry does not provide housing for its students. Dental students live in a variety of housing options around town. Incoming students are provided with lists of options during the summer before their matriculation and many students connect with one another before arriving to room together.
Campus Dining

The School of Dentistry is located next to the Michigan League which contains several restaurants, and close to downtown Ann Arbor’s variety of restaurants.

Fitness & Sports The School of Dentistry is located close to the CCRB (Central Campus Recreation Building) which students can use while enrolled in classes. Students can also participate in IM sports during their time at the dental school. http://www.recsports.umich.edu/
Religious Life Several student groups meet regularly at the School of Dentistry.

Getting Around Students are able to utilize the UM bus system for free as well as the AATA system by showing their UM ID card.
Student Support Services

Several offices on campus offer support to the student population on campus:

  • Counseling and Psychological Services(CAPS) and Services for Students with Disabilities provide free counseling to enrolled students.
  • The English Language Institute offers instruction in the English language to non-native speakers enrolled at the University.
  • The Center for the Education of Women is a multi-service resource open to anyone, whether a part of the campus community or the larger community. CEW provides counseling, advocacy, research, and programming with an emphasis on access to higher education and employment for women.
  • Services to Veterans provide information, guidance, and counseling to those who are eligible for educational benefits under existing public laws.  
  • The International Center provides services for international students and for students interested in study, work, or travel abroad. 
Disability Services The Office of Services for Students with Disabilities provides resources, referrals, and accommodations to students with disabilities. Office of Services for Students with Disabilities
Internet access and Computer Support All students are provided with an email account during their time at UM. Computer labs are available around campus, and many classrooms are wireless. At the School of Dentistry, the IT staff will assist all students with connecting their laptops to the school’s wireless internet. Students are provided with a small printing quota each month to use in the campus computer labs.
Campus Safety The Department of Public Safety has a regular presence on campus and in the School of Dentistry. Students are provided with information about on and off-campus safety during their first year orientation.
