Dr. Wang received her DDS and Master in Science in 1996 from West China University of Medical Sciences. She completed a PhD in Oral Biology, and a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) in 2004 and 2005, respectively. Dr. Wang then attended a Clinical Research Scholar Program at UNC-CH as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2005 and received her certificate in Clinical Research in 2007. She joined the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the UNC-CH as a Clinical Assistant Professor in 2007 and was recruited to the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan in Jan 2009. The focus of Dr. Wang’s research is on integrin signaling and matrix-cell interactions. She is also interested in pulp cell biology. Dr. Wang’s educational honors include being winner of the Bayer Award, Dentsply Award, James Bawden Award, Derek T. Turner Graduate Research Award, Travel Award from American Society of Hematology and Freedland Advanced Dental Education Fellowship from Dental Foundation of North Carolina. She also received Faculty Creativity Award funding from UNC-CH. Dr. Wang is an active member in AADR and AAPD and was board certified in Pediatric Dentistry by AAPD in 2006.
