Dr. Maria Regina (Ninna) P. Estrella is from Manila, Philippines. Ninna received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of the Philippines in 2001, after which, she practiced general dentistry in both private clinics and a community-based school setting in Manila, Philippines. She earned her Certificate and Master of Science degree in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Michigan in 2007.  Upon graduation, she joined the University of Michigan School of Dentistry as a clinical assistant professor in the department of orthodontics and pediatric dentistry in 2008. 

 
Dr. Estrella serves as the Director of the Pediatric Dentistry Service of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Hospital Dentistry Clinic. She is in a full time faculty, clinical track position, and practices in the School of Dentistry Pediatric Dentistry Faculty Practice. She is involved in teaching at the undergraduate, graduate pediatric dentistry and hospital dentistry clinic. Her interests include dentistry for children with special health care needs, with a particular focus on clinical studies among children with autism, craniofacial anomalies and the medically compromised population. She serves as a consultant on the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) Council of Clinical Affairs and is an active member of the AAPD, Kenneth Easlick Society and the Philippine Dental Association.
