Ann Arbor, MI — September 15, 2015 — Three employees in the University of Michigan School of Dentistry’s Clinic Billing Office (CBO) and Department of Finance were recognized by their colleagues for efforts that reinforce the school’s core values and support the school’s initiatives to advance its mission to improve health through education, service, research and discovery.
Receiving the special recognition were Meredith Barkey and Toni Nerowski, both in the CBO, and Diane Thomas, a financial analyst in the Budget and Finance Office.
Michael Fox, director of the school’s Office of Budget and Financial Planning, said the recognition was based on peer rankings in the two offices. Unit employees focused on commitment to the school’s core values of compassion, leadership, excellence, responsibility, trust, creativity and inclusion. Rankings were on a scale of 1 to 5. Barkey, Nerowski and Thomas received the highest scores from their peers.
“We need to support and recognize the school’s culture and values because they support and influence all that we do,” Fox said. “Meredith, Toni and Diane do more than talk about the school’s values. They live them every day in the way they do their work. I want to congratulate them and acknowledge their special effort.”
