Application Process

  • Applicants must submit an online application for admission to the University of Michigan Rackham Graduate School. Paper applications are NOT accepted. Complete instructions can be found on Rackham's Admissions website.
  • Once the application has been received, applicants will be contacted and an admission interview scheduled. (The interview may be done by phone or in person).
  • Prior to the interview, applicants will be sent a supplemental admissions worksheet. They will also be asked to complete the online learning assessment and a computer skills test.

Application Deadline

Both the on-Campus and online programs begin in the fall term only. Prospective Master of Science students are encouraged to complete their applications early as we follow a “rolling admissions” process and admission decisions are considered as applications arrive. Applications must be received no later than February 1 of the year acceptance is desired.

Computer System Requirements

Each student accepted into the program is required to purchase a laptop through the Master's program. Laptops are delivered to students at their initial on-campus orientation, and come fully loaded to meet the program's necessary hardware and software requirements. Utilizing student and program discounts, the estimated cost of this laptop is approximately $1,500 - $1,700. A high-speed, reliable internet service provider—DSL, cable, or satellite—is required for this program.
