Dr. Michael Behnan earned his D.D.S. from the University of Detroit Mercy in 1976 and his M.S. in orthodontics from the University of Michigan in 1979. Dr. Behnan was in private practice in Clinton Township, Michigan for 37 years. He has been a faculty member of the Graduate Orthodontic Department since 1996 and teaches Standard Edgewise in the graduate orthodontic clinic on Tuesday afternoons. In addition, he is Director of the Summer Biomechanics Program for incoming residents and now is also Director of the Seminar in Clinical Orthodontics Course 762. He is also on the teaching staff of the Charles Tweed International Foundation and a Diplomate of American Board of Orthodontics. Currently he is President of the University of Michigan Orthodontic Alumni Association. He has been married to Marie for almost 40 years and has three children, Scott, a graduate of University of Michigan undergraduate, Dentistry, and Orthodontic programs, Elizabeth, University of Michigan Graduate in Nursing and now a nurse practitioner, and Emily, sophomore at the School of Information, University of Michigan. Enjoying five granddaughters.
