Dr. Maria L. Pinzon is originally from Bogota, Colombia and now lives in Ann Arbor. She completed her dental training at Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia and her orthodontic training at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. She began practicing orthodontics in 1985 in Bogota and moved to Ann Arbor in 1998, when she began teaching orthodontics at the University of Michigan. Dr. Pinzon teaches the in the graduate orthodontic clinic on Monday afternoons. She is a Tweed Instructor and practices edgewise orthodontics with zero-based appliances. Her practice philosophy also includes some dentofacial orthopedics and early treatment when necessary for functional problems. She also teaches at the Tweed Foundation for Orthodontic Research in Tucson, Arizona. Dr.Pinzon is married to Dr. Philip Warren, also an instructor at the orthodontic department. They have two sons, Ricky and Paulo. Her office is located at 2301 S. Huron Parkway in Ann Arbor and has been in practice there since 2002. She likes to play golf, hike, travel and cook and entertain friends with Colombian recipes.
