Each resident will receive a stipend of $35,000 for the 2010-2011 resident year. Based on the Tax Reform Act of 1986, the University of Michigan has no obligation to withhold state or federal taxes. However, the University does report the dollar amount to the federal government for the calendar year. Federal and state tax obligations are the responsiblity of the resident.

Additional information can be obtained through the Department Office. Student identification cards should be picked up during orientation week.
