Judging

NEW JUDGING AND ORAL PRESENTATIONS

The judging procedures for 2018 are changing to align with the AADR Hatton Competition review process.  This year the initial judging will be done in two stages.

  • First Round of judging will be a blind review on the submitted abstract only in the categories of Clinical Research/Public Health and Basic and Translational Science Research
  • Second round of judging will be oral presentations from the top abstract scores in the same categories.

Presenters will be notified February 1-2 if their abstract was selected and will receive detailed information regarding format, timing and dates. (Tentative dates include: Feb 9, 10 & 12). Outcomes will be revealed at the poster session and awards presented at the awards reception.

To preserve the high energy for Research Day, all students, faculty and staff who submit an abstract are still required to present their poster at Research Day on February 21, 2018 from 2-4:30pm at the Michigan Leauge.

Abstracts and Oral Presentations will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Research is timely and important
  • Student knows why research is important
  • Hypothesis clearly stated
