Course Overview: Behavior guidance is a continuum of interaction involving the dentist and dental team, the patient, and the parent directed toward communication and education.” This presentation will discuss methods for accurately assessing a child, adolescent, or young adult’s development, temperament, personality and fears. Such an assessment allows for prediction of, and preparation for, a child, adolescent, or young adult’s behavior and response to dental treatment.

Course Overview: The University of Michigan, Harvard School of Dental Medicine and the Osteology Foundation have created a unique educational opportunity for young investigators. Senior investigators will also have a platform from which they will be able to mentor and share their knowledge and expertise with young investigators. During this 3.5-day course, a comprehensive view on most of the aspects of pre-clinical and clinical studies required by young researchers for their daily work will be delivered. These include the development of a study protocol, practical tips for grant applications as well as analytical methods and publication strategies.
Introductory Course for Foreign Dentists entering the United States

Many foreign dentists take several years to find their feet in the UnitedStates and acquire licensure and employment in the dental profession. Many foreign dentists spend years in underemployment and may suffer unmeasured consequences of this such as lack of fulfillment and depression. This course is designed to fast track the learning of foreign dentists about the US healthcare system, the US dental profession, the US educational system and the cultural differences that willstrengthen their application and performance in an interview.
