If I am in the Profile for Success program, will I have the opportunity to take the DAT or MCAT at the end of the program?
Yes. Throughout the program we encourage each participant to plan on taking the exam before you leave Ann Arbor. Time is built into the schedule for you to take the exam at our local testing center. Please note: taking the DAT or MCAT is not mandatory. It is your choice.
What might a typical day be like for the Profile for Success program?
A typical day consists of classes (Kaplan or didactic), speaker presentations, workshops, etc. The hours are from 8-5PM, Monday-Friday.
Will I have to live in the residence hall for the entire six weeks, even if I live close to the School of Dentistry?
Yes. All program participants are required to live in the residence hall for the duration of the six-week program.
Do I have to remain at the program for the entire six weeks? What happens if I may need to start late or leave early?
Very rarely are exceptions made or permission granted for a participant to begin the program late or leave the program early. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that there are no scheduling conflicts for the six-weeks.
How close are the School of Dentistry and the Medical school to the residence hall?
The School of Dentistry is about a 10-12 minute walk from the Hill area residence halls. The Medical School is less than 10 minutes from the residence hall, and about 15-20 minutes from the School of Dentistry.
What does the stipend cover?
The stipend should cover your housing and meals for the six-weeks. However, it is your responsibility to budget your money according to your needs during this time.
Do we receive a meal plan?
No. Meal plans are not provided. There are many restaurants, diners, and other eateries located on and off campus.
