"Michigan SNDA/NDA Mentoring Network."
The goals of this network are to foster relationships between our minority dental students and minority dental alumni by exposing students to opportunities and experiences available in our alumni private practice settings. Additionally, we aim to foster alumni involvement in our annual programs sponsored by the SNDA (formerly BDSA) and the Office of Multicultural Affairs such as the King’s Feast Celebration, SNDA Senior Banquet and the NDA Alumni reception.
We are asking you to participate as a mentor for a dental student. This commitment would not take a great deal of your personal time, just your commitment to be an information resource for a student, allow them to visit your practice or work environment at least once a year, and participate with one of our annual SNDA events. The SNDA sponsors two such events: the King’s Feast, held in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday and the SNDA Senior Banquet, which celebrates the graduation of our new SNDA/NDA dental alumni. Many of you have inquired about being more involved with our minority students in a supportive role and hopefully this program will give you that opportunity.
