Librarian Services
As a partner in the UM health sciences community, the Library seeks to improve information access and knowledge transfer through the creation of innovative programs and services. Our Liaison Librarian Service aims to create highly productive collaborations and close working relationships between liaison librarians and specific academic and clinical units. Liaison Librarians are a vital channel for communication about information resources and skills as well as an essential component of the teaching, learning, and research activities for all faculty, students, and staff.
Liaison Librarian Services Include:
- Collaborating to integrate research skills into the curriculum, including sessions that support the ACGME Competencies
- Providing instruction to develop discipline-specific research skills
- Informing faculty and departments of new research tools, emerging technologies, library resources, and services
- Participating in grants and research projects, including literature searches and other information needs
- Collaborating with faculty to develop collections in their subject areas
- Creating discipline-specific web guides
- Providing orientations for new faculty, staff, and students in the health sciences
