According to "The Chronicle: Wired Campus Blog" from May 31, 2005,

"Laptop computers might be convenient, but they are ergonomic nightmares, according to a number of college researchers and orthopedics experts. The machines' minuscule keyboards and monitors can encourage bad posture and strain users' necks and wrists, the experts say. They recommend using a separate keyboard and mouse whenever possible. They also suggest that laptop users take short breaks from typing every 20 or 30 minutes. (CNET News)"
