Suffering from recurrent cold sores?
You may be eligible for our study!
Our cold sore feasibility study
will test laboratory methods to quantify and identify virus
types and evaluate our patient education materials and
clinical study flow. We are recruiting a group of 65
generally healthy subjects, 18-80 years old, with recurrent
cold sores (at least three cold sores per year) to help us
prepare future treatment studies of a novel topical
treatment of cold sores. Participants will be enrolled with
an active cold sore lesion and during the first clinic visit
a short history, a photograph of the lesion and a specimen
(blister swab with a q-tip) will be obtained. Forty patients
participate for this visit only. Twenty subjects will return
for daily visits (max. 12 visits) until the lesion is healed
and participate in evaluation of our educational materials
and the calibration of study personnel. Although currently
no active treatment will be provided, this will help to
develop our future treatment study.
Participants for one-visit only will receive
$15 as incentive. Participants who return daily may receive up
to $130.
You will find further information in the PDF document:
ColdSore_Flyer.pdf.
