PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The University of Michigan School of Dentistry offers a very special and unique "Postdoctoral Scholar Program" for internationally trained dental school graduates and practitioners through the Office of Continuing Dental Education.  The purpose of the program is to provide educational experiences to dentists in specific areas of interest and specialties. 

The program includes classes with graduate students, observations and participation in the clinics.  The program is structured to allow a great deal of personalized instruction.  Upon fulfillment of the program requirements, students receive a certificate of completion.

This program is not intended to prepare individuals to practice a specialty.  It is expected that the individual will return to his/her country after gaining insights and improving his/her expertise in a specialized area for the practice, teaching and research of that subject.
