Dr. Krull's research focuses on how cells become specified, migrate to their target areas, and differentiate. Current projects in the laboratory include the study of embryonic stem cells and how they differentiate in vitro and in vivo as well as how motor neurons navigate to their target muscles in the developing hindlimb. Also, we are examining how neural crest cells become specified into distinct cell types at various axial levels. Together, our findings will provide key insights into the molecular mechanisms that define cellular architecture during development and may have implications for the remediation of human diseases.
