American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry

 

Pictures are from:  1) Boo Bash, October 2010- Members of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry gave away toothpaste, toothbrushes, and oral hygiene instructions to kids trick-or-treating in the Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor, Michigan. 2) Special Smiles, November 2010- Members of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry made mouthguards for Special Olympians of all ages participating in a poly-hockey tournament in Lansing, Michigan. 3) Oral Health Education Day, February 2011 - Members of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry gave oral hygiene instruction to elementary students at Cheney Academy in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

 

The purpose of the University of Michigan's student chapter of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) is to promote a better understanding and appreciation of dentistry for infants and children among dental students here at the University of Michigan. Its ultimate objective is to foster a relationship between dental students and the pediatric community through educational presentations, screenings and dental projects.

The University of Michigan's student chapter of the AAPD participates in Boo Bash, Special Smiles, Give Kids A Smile, oral hygiene instructions at local elementary schools, and other events throughout the year.
