Room Scheduling
Academic time is given top priority and booked each semester through the Registrar’s Office. Once academic time is scheduled, rooms will be opened for other meetings and functions. For a listing of classrooms in the School of Dentistry with room size and technical details, please click here.
- Departmental Requests: The School of Dentistry has a decentralized room scheduling system. Each department has a designated staff person who is able to book room reservations for departmental meetings and events. Please contact your department administrator for the room scheduler in your area.
- Student Group Requests: Student organizations that wish to reserve rooms at the Dental School for meetings or events can do so by emailing SOD.studentevents@umich.edu. Priority for reservations is given first to classes, then to administrative reservations for Dental School events or meetings, and then to student groups. Student group reservation requests are processed in the order in which they are received, with consideration given to group size, type of event, and available space. However, student organization reservations, like others, are subject to cancellation should an overriding academic or institutional need arise. The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for coordinating the use of classrooms, seminar rooms, corridor and atrium space.
- University-Wide Requests: All requests from persons external to the School of Dentistry should be sent to dds.schedulers@umich.edu. Please include name, email, company or department name, phone number, date(s) and times needed, number of people expected at the event, type of room needed (lecture hall, conference room), title of your event. Rooms are booked based on availability and are limited to Monday thru Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM (access is not possible evenings, weekends or on holidays). Prohibited items: alcohol, candles, decorations on walls & ceilings, and animals.
