Dr. Crystal Ammori was born and raised in Michigan. She graduated from the University of Michigan with her Bachelors of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery and from Wayne State University earning a Masters in Biological Sciences. She was a physiology and histology graduate student instructor at Wayne State. Crystal aided teaching sessions in clinic, preclinic, and lecture courses during dental school. She has been an active member with dental organizations including the Michigan Dental Association, American Student Dental Association, and American Association of Public Health Dentistry. Crystal did research in areas of social work and genetics at the University of Michigan. She is furthering her knowledge and skills in dentistry and experience with research and teaching as a Masters candidate in Prosthodontics, She hopes to aid in the rehabilitation of function, esthetics, and oral health of patients as both a private practice practitioner and a university educator.
Dr. Juliana Castro-Lapeira received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2011 from the ULACIT University in San Jose, Costa Rica. In 2012, Dr. Castro did a one-year internship at the Prosthodontic Graduate Program at the University of Costa Rica. After finishing with her studies, Dr. Castro worked as an associate general dentist in a private office in San José. She is currently enrolled in the University of Michigan’s Prosthodontics Graduate Program with the intent of becoming an excellent clinician and expanding the learning to Costa Rica’s future dentists.
Dr. Chicchon obtained his undergraduate degree in Economics at the University of California-Davis and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. His clinical interests include dental implant surgery and implant prosthetics. His research interests revolve around the application of 3D design and manufacturing in implant dentistry and maxillofacial reconstruction. Dr. Chicchon is a student member of the American College of Prosthodontists and of the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics.
Sabrina Garcia Gazaui
Dr. Garcia Gazaui was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She attended dental school at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, where she obtained the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery in December 2011. After completing her graduation she started working as an assistant with two different Prosthodontists with private practice in Caracas to observe, learn and practice about the specialty. During dental school training, she worked ad-honorem as a Teaching Assistant in Department of Removable Partial Dentures. In March 2012, she became part of the Department of Crown and Bridge where she performed as a Collaborative Professor in the pre-clinical and clinical environment. She started the Graduate Program of Prosthodontics in September 2013 and she is willing to develop and improve clinical and laboratory skills. After obtaining her Prosthodontist degree, Dr. Garcia Gazaui would like to teach and work in private practice.
Jonathan Berkowitz (VA resident)
Dr Berkowitz attended dental school at The University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 2012. He then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at the Veterans Administration in Montrose, New York. During his spare time, Dr Berkowitz likes to sculpt. His favorite mediums are in wood and in metal. Dr Berkowitz is proud to be able to do the didactic portion of his program at The University of Michigan. His future goals are to go into private practice and teach part-time at a local Dental School or hospital residency program.
