Global Initiatives

Mission: The University of Michigan has a legacy of tackling critical health issues through research and action. The School of Dentistry will build on this tradition by generating novel approaches and partnerships that improve oral health and promote global health equity through research, education and service.

Vision: The School of Dentistry aims to embrace multidisciplinary collaborations, leveraging the strength and expertise of its members and partners to find and implement sustainable solutions that improve oral health and promote global health equity. Our international agreements are formed on the principal of valuing the wisdom and expertise of others. We aim to produce new knowledge that serves society and builds a collective capacity.

Interested in School-Related Travel?

The University of Michigan School of Dentistry has established a protocol and compiled resources to aid students, faculty, and staff who are traveling. For trips that are affiliated with the University of Michigan or trips that are education-related, there are requirements that have to be fulfilled before departure. Individuals planning leisure travel can also benefit from following the same protocol, and are encouraged to do so.
